It is true, of course, that our resources and our industrial plants are not collectively owned. This is not a collectivistic state, and if we build aright, it will never be a collectivistic state. But in one sense, our resources are collectively owned. They are owned by the people together in the sense that all the people owners and non-owners depend on those resources for their lives. Unless the resources are used in the interests of all, the non-owners will suffer, as many have suffered in the past and as many suffer today.
